National School Breakfast Week is March 6-10

To encourage more families to take advantage of the healthy choices available with school breakfast, Howell Public Schools will celebrate National School Breakfast Week (NSBW) during March 6-10, 2023. The NSBW campaign theme, “DIG IN to School Breakfast,” reminds the entire school community that healthy breakfast options are available at school to provide students an energizing start to the day. Busy weekday mornings make it a challenge for many families to find time for a healthy breakfast. Fortunately, our Food Service Department offers nutritious school breakfasts, complete with fruit and low-fat or fat-free milk, to ensure students are fueled for learning every school day. Welcome to March!  It is that time of year again.  With weather ranging from ice, snow, to sun and rain, please make sure you have an 'extra set' of clothing for your child, if necessary.  Layering is important!  Extra socks, pants, etc. to survive all the running and playing while at recess.  Our playground does get pretty wet and muddy, so please plan accordingly.  Extra socks, shoes, and pants become really valued.

Remember on those days where snow is falling, boots, snow pants, hats, and gloves are important.

We have a new Coyote that has joined our family.  His name is Wylie.  Look for his formal introduction, soon.  We'll reveal Wylie and our Junior Survivors!  Southwest is looking forward to supporting Senior Survivor and such a worthy cause. Stay tuned!

Remember we have book fair and spring conferences this week.  Thank you to our Media Specialist, Lisa Kollath, for organizing book fair for our students.  Come in and take a look!

Looking forward to Spring,

Jennifer Goodwin - Principal
