Weekend Survival Kits™

Weekend Survival Kits™ (WSK), Giving Hope to Hungry Kids, is a supplemental food program that feeds children over the weekend when food can be uncertain for some families. This program is for elementary students at this time. A typical kit will contain approximately two weekends' worth of food servings that are discreetly sent home with students every other Friday (the second and fourth Fridays of each month) throughout the school year. The kits are free to eligible children who currently qualify for free or reduced school meals (breakfast and lunch). If you are interested in participating in the WSK program, please complete this Google Form. You only need to complete one form for your family as long as all your elementary-aged children attend the same school. If your elementary-aged children attend more than one elementary school, please complete the form for each school. Please remember that there is no cost for your family to participate. Please get in touch with your child's school counselor if you have questions regarding the WSK program.

Christmas Elves Program Sponsors Needed

Each year, the Christmas Elves Program provides holiday gifts to children in need in the Brighton and Howell community. Last year, the program supported 326 children with holiday gifts and 159 families with gift cards for household items. This was made possible by the generosity of our community. As the program moves into its 15th year, they are again looking for individuals to support this great program. To sign up to purchase gifts for a child, please click here. If you would like to make a monetary donation to support the program, please click here.

Counselor’s Corner 10/20/22

This is a great opportunity for parents!  The Livingston Educational Service Agency has partnered with an organization called ParentGuidance.org which is committed to providing every parent with a student in Howell access to amazing opportunities, like on-demand self-help courses for supporting your child.

My favorite part? Access to an individual parenting coach for up to 30 minutes a week.  In addition, you can message your coach and receive responses within 24 hours when you need support during difficult moments.

These coaches are not school employees and have no connection to schools. Additionally, ParentGuidance.org is intended to be used by parents and will not be used in the school setting. To learn more about the coaching program, please visit https://bit.ly/3VpVsnn. To register to be connected with a free parenting coach, please visit https://bit.ly/3RZgEO8 and click "Register Today."

Thank you to our PTO and Student Council for a wonderful Trunk or Treat on Saturday night.  I enjoyed the beautiful weather and the opportunity to enjoy our school community come together.  From the food vendors, to games, to the trunks, I hope it was enjoyed by all!  Happy Halloween!
